Ms Simran Singh is presently working with IIS deemed to be University, Jaipur as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Home Science and has been teaching Food Science and Nutrition since 2001. She has also worked at senior positions at Kukreja Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Institute of Hotel Management Applied Nutrition at Dehradun.
Her key research areas are Clinical Nutrition, Food Product Development, Women health, Junk foods, Childhood and Adolescent Obesity and role of Nutrition in Non-Communicable Diseases. Several students have undertaken their post graduate research under her supervision. She has also been trained in Bariatric Nutrition.
She has published in many scientific journals, authored books, served as book editor, written book chapters and contributes articles in magazines and newsletters regularly. Her two patents have got published recently. She has also been on the panel for Developing Mineral Mix for Mid- day Meal scheme in Uttarakhand. Besides, she is also involved in providing consultancy to a nutrition-based start-up in Ahmedabad and development of a health app.
She is a life member of Indian Dietetic Association, Home Science Association of India and professional member of Universal Society of Food and Nutrition.
